Need help for this tigrinus catfish

Could it be parasitic? They moved in each pic. thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter see anything like this?

I can't say for sure I see a displacement - there indeed appear to be subtle differences but they could be due to a small difference in the angle and the lighting. This leaves me unsure. Another similar / identical shot taken with a large separation in time may help see if the little protrusions indeed move.

Neither can I recall seeing this before on any fish. A 2-minute google search of pictures has not yielded anything similar.

I would start some type of treatment regardless. Maybe start with a methylene blue dip bath....depending on what this is it may have a decent effect on it.

Could just be a scrape. I'd stay on top of water changes and increase flow if possible. Blindly medicating tigrinus cats is a huge no-no.

FWIW I must side with shookONES when it comes to any fish.

One puzzling facet of what we are looking at is that there is no sign of inflammation, nor is the fish looking sick... as if this is not an illness or an illness in its latent stage / form.

agreed with 99.9% of the cases of sensitive fish, that's why I mentioned meth blue instead of anything else, extremely easy on the fish and if it is only a scrape that will help stave off secondary infections.

Also why I mentioned meth blue, if anything it will just be a precautionary treatment, nothing extremely stressful on the animal. I agree it is a strange looking marking...
