i knoe dis is a filtration question, but i wanted feed back from aro guys. im building a sump for my 300gal, did some research, but still could use advice. need blue prints you you guys got some. should i build a refugium in my sump. what kinds of media sould i use. most that ive seen just use bio balls. how should i go about doing this. i already have a 60gal tank, overflow box, bio balls, pvc pipes and, plexie glass. please help!:)

Just asking arowana owners you are only limiting the number of responses you will get. There are many peopel who have monster tanks with monster sumps and no aros. Why wouldn't there opinions be valid?

I run filter floss and scrubbies in my sump. My sump is factory made for a 250-300g tank and only has a 34g volume. That 60g will be more then big enough for your 300.

i have a 350 gallon tank and my sump is 200 gallon
.the bigger the better .
just make sure the first part ( where the water start filterng is easy accessebel ) becouse it wil get the most dirt. fist you need to get rid of the dirt , then you need something with big surface , so that the bacteria wil break down en clean your water.and at the end it's best to have a oxygen pump in the sump .

oxygen is everything , if you have alot of oxygen in your water the sump wil be working better . so alot of surface ( depends ofcouse of your fich .) movement wil make sure you have alot of oxygen in the water.

your overflow i woud recommend big biobals where the water woud mix very hard with the air into the sump . id do this and it work's out great , even with my leasynis ;)

you coud do that , how do you mean bleuprint ? i'm from another country and english is not my first languadge.

I don't think you will need to do a fug. Unless you feel that there is going to be an insane amount of nitrates. I would do the wd sump and an fx5 for polishing the water.
