A few months back some of u may remember I posted stating I was getting 3 of these because my fish guy reccomended them for my tank. Some of u said he shouldnt have only sold me 3 of them, but the order was already done and they were on there way. Well since I've had them I've had 2 of them die and I believe the next is on it's way. First ill start off saying I got 3 of all different sizes. They were all close but u could tell there was a small, medium, n larger one. The 2 bigger ones always picked on the smaller one, chasing it around constantly. He started to get lil holes around his forehead area. I figured it was due to stress and he ended up dying. I was soo pissed. Well then after the death the larger one was starting to pick on the smaller medium one, once again lil holes and then death. Well now there's no others to pick on the biggest one. I have a motoro stingray, 16" fire eel and 2 Florida gars. None of them even pay attention to the geos. And now the biggest one is starting to get lil holes. Now I know it's not stress atleast for this one, u would think it's water quality. If ph unbalance could cause this then that's my issue becuz I have very soft water and my hardness comes out of tap at 3 kh. And for awhile no matter how often I would do wc my ph would crash. Not I'm adding alkaline buffer every couple days to keep it balance. But anyways theres the whole story. I'd appreciate any advice cuz just like u I don't like fish dying off.

I know nothing of your kind of fish. Did you look up threads/posts on here on geo's? I would do that, and look for the most intelligent person on geo's, and try to send them a PM. Sincerely sorry about your fish.

My first Oscar got HITH from the same soft water problem. I have one jurupari all by itself and it's very happy. I buffer with crushed coral and haven't had an issue since I figured that out.

Other suspected causes of HITH are stray electric current, boring diet/insufficient vitamins and charcoal/carbon dust.

My new Oscar once showed a tiny hole when my buffer got weak and I hadn't realized it. I buffered the water again, but I still had to treat with metro and a vitamin pyramid, and that fixed it instantly. Holes closed in about a day.

Ahh man it's getting worse. I'm on my way to the lfs now. Wut I don't understand is, is if was the soft water wouldn't have it all 3 of them at once??

OK first things first. What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings on your tankwater.
With all those other larger fish, it's quite possible that your nitrates have drifted up to an unacceptable level, and the geos are possibly the most sensitive to poor water quality.
