need help gill curl

i was away on holiday for 2 weeks i have a red tail cat fish when i was a way my filter went on the blink and my ammoina leavels went as high as 4.0 i now have them under control but i have noticed one of his gills has started to curll a bit should i be worried or is there a water treatment i can get for this worried sick
