Heres the problem:
My spring break is coming up here and im leaving my apartment ( Im in college ) and one of the rules is everything has to be unplugged and i cant bring my 75gallon home with me ( only for 11 days ) should i remove the water or just let it sit there with no filter/heater/air running? I don't know what would happen to it.. Obviously i will be bringing my bichirs with me but what will happen to the water?

Any input would help...
thanks

Your BB might die out due to lack of ammonia, but I'm not totally sure if it'll survive for 11 or not. You might be able to put straight up ammonia in the tank to sustain the cycle while you're gone and when you get back turn everything on and do a water change or two and it should be fine.

i was thinking take half the water out that way when i come back i fill it back up and its like a 50% water change but i dunno

If your taking the fish with you why not take the filter also and put it in your tank at home. Just don't let the filter pads dry out on your way home. Also empty the tank of water when you get back fill it back up put filter on and put the fish back in.

No point in leaving the water unless you put something to rot in there.

ok sounds like a good idea...empty the tank...take the filter with me and put it on my tank at home...thanks guys!
