I just finished setting up and sealing my 500. need some advice on a return pump or pumps. I have silver aros, oscars, rtc, tsc. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I suggest using a pump or pumps that can pump slightly more gph than your overflows can handle... then slow them down just a touch with ball valves...

Keep in mind head pressure, plumbing diamter, length of plumbing, bends in plumbing, etc will cause restirction and slow down the actual flow rate... I suggest your pump/pumps can slightly exceed the actual flow rate...

Be as creative as you want to be or can be with the placement of the filter returns to give yourself maximum filtration. It's not going to be easy to vac the bottom of that deep tank.

Just the exact opposite...

It is standard procedure to use overflows that can handle more than the pump can return.

In other words a pump system that moves less water than the overflows can handle.

This way, should the overflows become fouled or blockage should occur, you don't have a pump, that even if valved down, will overflow the floor...;)

Absolutely no reason to burn excess electricity (larger pump) and valve it down for the desired flow...
