My LED lights suck, time for a much needed upgrade. I have a 72" tank and it is enclosed. I am looking for something that is very bright and the lights will have to be somehow protected from the water as the lights will be inches away from the water. Any links would be appreciated, i am having trouble finding something that would work good.

Thank you

t5ho....almost all of them have glass shields....

i got a few 4' sun blaze 54w t5 ho's for 35$ a piece...I looked for a long time and finally found these at a local hydroponics shop - Ive got 2 of them on my 150 and one on a 50 gallon so far, and this is plenty of light for my needs. you can also get 2' for about 25$ and daisy chain (any of) them together. seems like hydroponics lighting is always cheaper, but it's the same sht. The bulb that comes with it is pretty blue - the plants seem to like it, and i like it, but you could always supplement with diff spectrum bulbs. you can buy them here with no shipping charges -

note the significant price difference between the single fixtures and the dual or quads...have not quite figured this out yet, but its much cheaper to just buy 4 of the singles...

good luck -

thats what i buy hydro set ups

Cool thanks alot! i just measured my tank and it turns out its 8 feet long instead of 6, i didnt know this for the year i have owned the tank! good surprise though. i think a 6 foot light should still be big enough and get the job done!

Thanks again

2 4' lights daisy chained together would work perfectly, if you have them set up in a hood -
If you've got an 8' tank, how deep is it? you might have problems with light penetration...
