Here is my set-up:
330 gallon acrylic tank on a sump system (100 gal tub with two mag18's)
Stock:
20" Black Arowana
20"+ WAL
(4) 13"-16" Florida Gars
8"+ Flagtail
10"+ Royal Clown Knife (not sure on the size - I don't see it often!)
14"+ Bichir (I forget the types)
10" Bichir
6" Bichir
All fish are peaceful together and trained on pellets / frozen.

Here is my issue. I'm looking to sell my house. There maybe a transition period - 2 to 8 months were I will move into a coach house at my in-laws before we move into our new house.

Do you guys/gals think it would be better to set up one or two large tubs set-up with my existing sump at the in-laws? This way I can take down my tank, put it in storage for the transition. What size tub/s would I need for my stock?

I'm open to any suggestions!

Rubbermaid make a 300 gallon stock tank. That would work, but may be too large to get in house. They also make 150 and 100 gallon ones (much more manageable).

300 dims are [TABLE="width: 100%"]

Flip it on it's side and it should be fine.

I'm a bit stumped on how to plumb my sump to it though.
-Do I need to elevate it (would a 2 foot frame be OK?)?
-Should I use bulk heads and drill the side of it? Would that damage the integrity of the tub?

Sorry, I've been plowing all night, so my brain is not 100% here right now.

I've used plenty of the 300 stock tanks and they work very well. for the sump it would be the easiest to build a stand for a smaller tub as the sump. It will have to be above the water level of the 300 gallon and you'll have to drill holes and put a bulkhead in whatever you choose as a sump. Some people would call it an overhead sump. the mag18s go in the 300 gallon and pump water to the sump which flows back to the 300 via gravity. I would do this as opposed to drilling the expensive 300 and trying to raise it. Send me a pm and I can explain it better and send some pics if you want. I've used the setup for years and it works very well and I'm always happy to help others.

The only time I've had trouble is when I kept fish in the sump and didn't have a strainer on the leaving bulkhead....you can imagine the outcome lol. Make sure you put a strainer in the sump to stop anything from clogging the bulkhead hole. I also put another bulkhead above the main one as a failsafe incase one gets clogged, which hasnt happened in 2 years and counting.
