Cincy!
Hello, I have 2 Emperor 400's on my 150 P tank. They barely move any water thru them, do I need to replace something or is there any tricks I could try? The flow is all the way up on both of them. Ive tried cleaning and reseting. I have another one on my 90g and it moves at least twice as much water. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your insight! -Josh

pull your intake tube out, pull up on your flow rate switch, look at your impeller for debris or anything, pull down on your impeller shaft, untill the impellor pulls from the flow rate assembly, clean them both, and inspect the impellor shaft for anything wraped around it. Put back together, clean intake tube and water resovoir, should be all good, do this every month or two.

Yep, adam has it all covored.

My wife has long hair and it gets everywhere, if I don't take apart the impeller ittle seize from all the hair wrapped around the shaft. Gunk on the magnet really hurts performance, so make sure ya clean the impeller and the hole it goes in well with a bottle brush monthly.

Yea, that happens to me a lot. Cleaned out the caked gunk and everything flowed perfectly. Just keep them clean and they will be fine. Also, sometimes when the wheel spins, it rubs. Pull off the wheel and clean the axle and its little mount. They get plastic shavings stuck inside of them.

this cleaning ever other month is what you need, I have also noticed as the tank water line goes down so does the output of the Emps. Found this out when tried to lower the waterline on my Aro tank. Wanted to keep him from hitting the top glass during feedings.

Alright, thanks. I tried that. It seems there was carbon down in the magnet impeller hole. Thanks Again! -Josh
