Urgently need help... my 30cm male stop eating since 3 days ago. His clasper got bitten quiet bad also.

All the rays are eating well only him is not eating. So im certain is not water quality/parameter issue but more to physical damage/stress issue.

For now, I have moved him to quarantine tank.

Q1- how do i prevent other rays from biting other males clasper? Because he is not the only victim. my 2 other males have similar problem with their claspers, but not gone to the point of stop eating like this one.

Q2- any advices or tips or tricks to get him eating again ASAP?..

@giar ...sorry for your boy, that looks really painful

I would probably add an antibiotic to the water to prevent infection.
I usually dont but it looks badly bitten so it might be a good idea
Some nitrofurazone

Dieselhybrid Dieselhybrid ...

Have you by any chance managed to establish who the culprit is ?
Are they all doing this to each other or is it a dominant male that is doing it to the rest of the males?

I would try some earthworms.... usually they cant refuse that ..

Good luck.. hope he recovers soon

I dont know who the culprit is.. i kinda suspect the female do that. Because even the alpha male get his clasper bitten.

Now is the 4th day he is not eating but still swim around here and there in the Q tank

I would not force feed, but I would separate/isolate to reduce stress. I have seen this on males before that would not stop breeding. Have you seen the biting? Or any breeding activity?

The fact he isn't eating makes me thing they are bites and he's very stressed. Try comfort foods. Shrimp, worms, etc.

Good luck!
