need help on breedign flowerhorn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi there killergx.

If I may share my experience, I have had an 8-inch male ZZ paired with a 4-incher before and they had 2 successful broods. As long as the female is ready and has her papillary tube out, you won't have any problems with your pairing.

Good luck with your pairing my friend. :)

No, your male is not mature enough to breed, second if they do, you will get unhealthy fry.

i put them in together and the male chase after the female agressively what do i do now? oh and the female have all ready lay egg in another tank

Flowerhorn are very picky on their mate and by best suggestion that you find a male around 10" to breed, or want to raise up your flowerhorn a little bigger.

hope that helps

If this is the case, like what Exotic Fish stated, your male is not yet ready or mature for breeding.

this is the pair i want to pair up

Nice looking male and female, but as i stated before, the male not mature enough to breed. Best to use a male that twice bigger than female.

Some case it does happen that young fish get together and breed but will fight badly after female lay eggs.

oh allright i guess i have to wait for them to grow more then lol thanks for all the help.but i have 3 female and they all lay eggs today and they dont seems to eat it /if there is no male they wont hatch right?what will the female do with the eggs?

This is some of my success breeding pairs while back.......
