I need help with setting up a hiatt system on a tank that has already been running. I have one question if i soak the TBPC for the recommended 3 days do i still have to only add .5 pounds per day in order not not kill the fish. If i do why. When i set up one on a tank with no fish in it then add them an hour later i have no ill effects.

Please no answers of it doesn't work I know it does i just would like some help understanding this.

First I heard of it. Read a mini review which seems to support the clams. I used bio spira with good luck, until I killed it using meds for ammonia posining "Thanks PetSmart" but hey I was a noob.

Basically its a system that uses Right Now bacteria and Tribase pelletized
carbon. The right now bacteria are the aerobic bacteria the break down Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates, and Phosphates. They use the carbon in the TBPC in order to digest all of this with oxygen to produce Nitrogen gas and CO2.

This allows 0 ppm on all of these almost eliminating the need for water changes. The only thing you have to do is gravel vac to get rid of the build up of poop which only amounts to like 15% a week on large tanks. The fish love it the only thing you have to do is double the amount of air flow you have in the tank in order to get the level of oxygen necessary, and have all returns about 2 inches above the water.

Its expensive because you have to turn the tank over at least 6 times and hour and it takes a lot of TBPC.

I know there is one guy on here that uses it. He has posted about it before. I was going to try here first then post on their forums if all else fails.
