Need help on PBass Tank Setup

I'm going to start raising some Peacock Bass soon. Going to pick up three orino's.

So far i have
40gal acrylic tank
ehiem 2234
Visi-therm 200w heater
Aquaclear 50 HOB

As for the decor. I don't have any idea what they like. Any preferences like in Gravel, Plants(live or fake) etc.

I hope you have a much larger tank planned for the future, as these guys get really big really fast. My mono/hybrids went from 2" to 7" in about 5 months time. Any larger and they would have seemed crowded in my 125g tank.

orinos are some of the slower growing cichla, so a 40g will be good for several months. but please keep in mind you will need something much much bigger if you plan to keep these guys long term.

as for decor, fake plants and driftwood will do just fine. its just a matter of personal preference

you should get some dither fish as orino's are nasty at times.

as for the tank, its just temporary. i will either upgrade to a bigger tank or build me a pond later down the road maybe by next year.

Im going bare everything in my growout tanks.....making them get used to people and cats quick....not lettin em hide...workin well so far..they greet you like dogs.
