Hey I have just purchased a new filter for my tank because the old one is starting to give out... These filters hang off the back. Should I run both filters untill the new filter becomes impregnated with the tank bacteria or can i just straight swap it out? If the new filter should be ran with the old what time span will it take for the bacteria to attach to the biowheel of the new filter?

If they are the same model/size filter, just put the media from your old filter into your new one. Otherwise, just run both for a couple weeks.

what are the filters?

if the new filter holds the same amount of media, or more then put all the old media in the new filter and u should be fine.

(optional) dose Seachem stability

One is a sheet bio fliter the other is wheel.... the snakeheads i have like to jump and i really do not want to open another hole in the cover for a few weeks... would it work if i soaked the wheel for the 2-3 week span or does it have to be operating?

if you haven't done a WC for a while, you can just put the new filter on and take the old one out.. Squeeze a little of the old padding to the bio wheel of the new one

The old one is a aqua tec 330 which has a gph of 160. And the two new ones im thinking of are marineland penguin 200b (gph 200) or the 350b (gph 330) with the 33 gallon i have im leaning towards the 350b but i am kind of concered about the strenght of curent that will be produced in the tank, any ideas?

Definitely go with the bigger one if you only plan to run a single HOB. 10x turnover is bare minimum with HOB's in my opinion. If it were me, I'd go with an AC70 or AC110 & skip the biowheel stuff...
