I have asked a couple questions in the disease section and searched bt havent found exactly what i need so ill try it here. My fish havent been themselves lately. Most are not eating like they used to, are lethargic and have scratched themselves pretty aggressively. My Freddy is the worst so far. He hasent eaten at all in a few days and has a white film on his face. Ill let the pics show the scars and hopefully you can see the film on some of the to help me. I have been reading about coppersafe? for fungal problems, is this what they have? Velvet? Please help I think im running out of time and need the correct medicine soon.

It could be head and lateral line erosion, I'm no expert so maybe some others could weigh in here.

My nitrites got a little high, I have been doing 25% water changes for a few days now since i discovered a rotting pleco. I have kept the temp up and been doing daily gravel vacs for old food since they havent been eating.

Hith? Hole in the head is pretty common on large cihlids. I'm sure hith can also occur on the lateral line.

Bump the water changes up and the heat. I would say about 84 F should do the trick. Also if you can bring the bio filtration up so you can deal with the nitrites better. I think what you have is HITH as well and yes it can go down the laterline. But if you want to treat with coppersafe then do it in a hospital tank and i would say do it with the freddi 1st since hes the worse.

great fish by the way. its not oftin you see all those bruisers in one tank without fin damage.

How high were the nitrites? What were nitrate readings? How often do you normally do water changes and what percentage of h2o?
