need help on snake ID

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the head looks like a hognose snake but i don't know about the pattern. it's definitly a burrowing snake or one that lives in leaf litter

Well, it looks alot like a Kirtland's Snake (Clonophis kirtlanki) but they aren't native to Delaware. The closest range for this species is Western Pennsylvania. If it is this species, someone could have released it in Delaware.

hmm does look like an eastern. Mind you we have cleaner looking specimens than that in the trade, so might be wrong lol.

yea i saw one that looked very close to that the other day but the pattern was a little lighter..........

Good to see we are getting more Delaware members on here too.........

I've never seen an Eastern Hognosed this color before. And the head looks kind of small for one. But they are native to Delaware.
