3 inches is too small to sex. the guy at hung ming i forgot his name well he told me when i got mine from him that to really tell you gotta wait until about 5-6 inches but even then you could still make a mistake. but the coloring is coming out nice. I hope those other fish can hold there ground once your umbee gets bigger
But what the guy at hung ming told me is that the males bodies grow longer the females bodies begin to get taller as they grow. the males trailers get longer while the females are more rounded. the males heads seem to outgrow there bodies slightly. And then the most obvious reason the males coloration starts to kick in earlier although the females can have great coloring as well. And also the males face begins to have that i'd guess you'd say copper coloring with more freckles on there face.
