I had a 15'' oscar fight with a 10'' oscar and he got beat up bad over night. I moved the bully oscar and the big guy to the qt tank. He lost so many scales his side was white. Then it started to grow like a mold or fungus on it. I started to treat with melafix and pimafix. Now all the mold is gone but his side is in bad shape. On the large spot were the mold was, its all his pink/red flesh exposed :(

what should I do for treating? Is there anything i can do at this point?

thanks

IME, keep up with the melafix, but the real cure is heat (82-88 degrees) and heavy salt in the water AS LONG AS WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A HOSPITAL TANK. Sounds unbelievable, but with CA/SA cichlids, I've used 88 degrees and 1 cup of salt per 4 gallons of water with amazingly great results. Less usually works too, but takes longer. "Longer" gives any ifection or fungus time to move in and take over, so use your best judgement. Water changes, up to 25% daily in a hospital tank are usually helpful too, just replace the salt and melafix you've removed with the old water.

I also salt my CA/SA cichlids and it has worked wonders.

I had to drive him to the store and get him the salt myself he refused to trust me. Salt works great Dustin now all you need is melafix.
