ok i have been looking at cameras lately. kinda want to go dslr....
i like the sony a33 and a55 but i hear that cannon is a better company for good photo quality.
also i love macro shooting and want a camera that i can do macro with relatively easily.
any suggestions? i also like the NEX 3 and 5 from sony. the only dif is the 5 does 1080p
my price range is under 1000
hope to get some helpfull advice

bump! come on people...... i know yall know about cameras

You can get a Nikon d90, d80, d40, d60/s bodies all under $1000. $600 for a body, and use the rest for lenses form Ebay, Craigslist and so on. ModestMan uses a D40 with used lenses and his pictures are outstanding, Jcardona1 uses a D90 and got in National Geographic.

IMO, it's all about the glass, but you do need a body to house the glass. I used a D60, D40 and a D90. I'll be upgrading soon to D700. I like Nikon because that's what I'm use to. Easy transition between the cameras. But as Neo said, Go out and hold them, feel them in your hands and you'll find the one you are looking for. As for lenses, I believe there are some places that rents out lenses to, you can also try that while shopping for lenses. I use quite a few lenses myself.

Best of luck looking for your new DSLR.

Canon is good, but Nikon is better IMO. D90 can be had for around a grand and a D7000 (which is basically the D90's replacement) for about $1200. D90 has 720 p D7000 has 1080p.

Good luck with your decision!

i went with that cannon rebel t3

i will post some pics from it prob tues. i gotta get the cable for it.

I highly recommend the Olympus E-5 and the Zuiko 50mm macro lens. Look at my internship photo thread for examples of what the body and lens combo can do.
