I rather buy a use Rena XP3 for that amount! :)

what size tank is it going on?

your best bet is to buy a used one

honestly for a 150 gallon tank spending under 100 is near impossible with out going new. i spent 230 bucks on my eheim for my 55 now theyve gone down. this is the few parts of the hobby i highly suggest not cheaping out. look at craiglist thats all i can say.

or make your own

agreed those Jebo canisters are horrible. buy a used XP3, XP4, for FX5

is the canister in addition or replacement for ac's?

how about this? put in a 3rd ac110 let this be the middle filter with the supplied intake tubes, but DIY the other two (place an ac110 on each end) by extending the intake tube with pvc extension, then tee it at the bottom for double inlet. this way it can help suck up the heavier stuff at the bottom while the other sucks up the mid level. can't beat the water flow performance at this price level & ease of maintenance vs. a the pricier canisters.

www.kensfish.com has great prices, selections & low shipping costs (either ups or uspo, can switch to see which is less).

you should check ebay. i got a xp4 for my bro's gf for i dink 170 or so

You could get a used Eheim 2217 on ebay/craigslist. I think that should run you about $80. With 2 AC 110's and an 2217, the water turnover would be about 8x? per hour. I really like AC 110's so if I had a tank like yours, I would just add another one to my setup and have a better water turnover rate than most canisters.
