hi there guys im new to this website and i have no idea what is wrong with my fish! i have about a 6" jardini arowana, i just purchased it about 7 days ago, when i first got it he was eating frozen bloodworms very strong twice a day and was very skiddish when i made movements near the tank. tody i realized that he was acting a little different after feeding him a few hours before so i tried putting my hand to the tank and it seems that he is not seeing my movements. he is now only swimming very close to top surface of water and is bumping into things.:screwy:what could this be maybe blind?? is there any treatment?? please please help me with any of your knowledge on this horrible situaton. The worst part about this is i bought a jardini before this and the same thing happened and died few days later.I dont want the same thing happening again. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!

It could be an intestinal irritation due to the frozen bloodworm. Increase the temperature to 31 deg centigrade and put some antibiotic , 500mg per 20gal of water.

the tank has been running for almost a month. my tank is about 20 gal, but i do plan plan to keep up with size as my jardini grows.

the water i am using is aged water that has been sitting out for about a week. any uneating food is taking out right away and same goes with his poop. in my fish tnk there is no rocks nor decors. i change the water about 25% every 2 days sometimes 30%.my tanks is usually about 80-84 degrees and new water is maintained at same temps. the reason im using aged water w no added chemicals is becasue we have another jardini cared the same exact way as this and he is doing extremly well. not to mention this is how 2 other chilli red arowana is also raised. please please help me. i will keep you guys updated on how he is doing. any suggestions would be really appreaciated and helpful. thanks agian

i thought you first jar died? so now you have a healthy jar, and 2 illegal asian aro's but have no idea what water perameters are:confused: i find it hard to beleive that someone would dump thousands of dollars on fish but have no real clue as to how to properly care for them.

not one person on here can even think about giving you sound advise until you post your perameters. get a liquid master test kit and post your findings.

the first jar had already died from same situation and this one of mine is going blind. and the reason why i brought up the other arowanas (jardini aro) healthy one and (chilli red) is because the healthy jardini is raised here in WA and chilli reds raised in Vn there water is aged everytime we changed it and no chemicals are added but they live just fine why cant this jar adapt to this as well as the others??. Can light bulbs be the reason why he is going blind because i changed my reg bulbs to green ones.??? i really appreciate the quick replies any suggestions would help. PLEASE!!

what do you guys think it means when my jardini only stays at the top surface of the water and once in while he goes up for air, and it seems that he cannot see anything because he tends to bump into things alot!! I need your guys help serioulsy i feel really bad for this poor fish.
