need help please

i'm moving into a new pace and it has hard would floors i'm thinking of laying scrap carpet down to protect the floor just wondering if carpet padding would be enough this will be my little fishroom so looks don't matter any ideas will help thanks much

I think you will be fine to go without the carpet, but I do have to ask, what are you trying to do with the carpet? Keep the floors from scratching?

i'm renting this house for now i might buy it later so just in case i don't i don't want to end up having to replace the hardwood i'm sure the owners would feel better if i laid something down don't want to make them nervous

well i would just go with the carpet only.itll be fine
