Oahu Grown!
i just got done moving my azul from their 30gal growout to a 125gal growout and in the process after adding them into their new home i noticed an open wound on one of my azuls and with looking like a bump and small amount of blood on the side of the body...i did a water change just before adding them but i am a bit hesitant to add salt because of my ray, but any suggestions??? i a bit worried he is on the top hiding behind my hob filter while the rest are just swiming around...please any suggestions!!!!

keep in mind i have a ray in there also which make me hesitant to use chems/salt....if salt is okay...how much?

you can move it back to the Q tank for treating but mela fix pima fix and salt are fine with the ray...

yeah...im abit hesitant to move him again...not today anyway...but looks like the bleeding stopped and i read that salt is safe with rays so i added alittle bit of salt...should i use pima or mela fix also? or just stick with the salt and water changes every 3 days....what you think, anyother suggestions, thanks NIC for the quick response

Hopefully it is a battle wound as opposed to some type of outbreak and since you say he is hiding up around the filter then it is probably being bullied.Take him out and return him to the 30 or a smaller tank where it can be treated more easily.

100% battle wound, he what the one most difficult to catch when i was transfering him over, but he is not being bullied by anyone, he actually is the bully...lol...daym, i wanna move him but i don't...its been 30 mins since i added him, don't wanna stress the little guy out and now with the lights off he is swiming fine with the rest, and i just got done draining the 30gal do to the snail infestation i was going to clean it out...lol...like said he is now siwming with the rest of the pack, im just more concerned about the open wound.

anybody...any suggestions

This happens to mine all the time. Try some salt and it should heal rather quickly. I don't know if I would panick and start using all kinds of chems. It sounds as if he is a tough little bastard as is, so I am guessing he will be fine.
