can i put play sand in im aqarium, like the kind from wal mart even if i clean it real good. will it kill my fish?

i don't think it'll kill your fish, but it might kill your filter motor.

yes, play sand is fine. Just be sure to clean it very well PRIOR to putting in the tank.

what kind of filter do you have? sooner or later you'll know what I mean.

as far as safety, let me repeat myself - play sand won't kill your fish.

ok i have pegiun 350 and to emperior 400's just want to be sure im not douting you i just would be sick if i lost all my fish

So then why do it now? Sounds like a no brainer to me. If you are worried, deal with it at a later point. I don't see any problems coming from this. Play sand is dirty so wash it, but it is not harmful. If your fish die, it's not because of the sand.
And as for it killing your filter motor, that's not a factor with just about any filter as they pull water through, not push. The motor is AFTER the filtration. If it was before, I'd understand a threat to the motor.

I've used play sand too and it's never affected the fish, the sand doing anything to your fish shouldn't be a concern.
