ok first i havnt built the tank yet but looking into it but my problem is what to seal with. I found this UGL Drylok masonary waterproofer at my grandparents house today, ok first ill let you know some info on this stuff.

Drylok

resists alkali and mildew, ok first problem is that its mildew resistant iv been told no mildew resistant stuff.

maybe used on: stucco-bricks, cinder and concrete blocks, retaining walls, basements, swimming pools, fish ponds, foundatios, planter bowes.

well yea i quess thats it unless theres somthing else that im not aware of but with this stuff work for a large tank and has anyone used this before.

I don't think that stuff will cut it for a large tank. I know it's been used to coat/cover/seal 3d foam backgrounds before but not aware of anyone using it in a tank.

I've used 100's of gallons of the stuff but for its intended purpose. To paint block walls in basements to prevent mildew and water leaching.

Someone else may have further insight. But I vote NO.

Fiberglass resin with fiberglass cloth for the seams worked for me in the past. Make sure the plywood is marine plywood if you intend on keeping it for a long time otherwise sanded exterior plywood will do. The resin is the same material used in the manufacturing of fiberglass ponds. Also you can tint it any color. Good Luck.

i painted on a thick layer of truck bed liner. once cured its just like a spray in truckbed liner. then i sealed corners with same stuff u use for tanks. dont know if it will work for u but it did for me for 8 months and all fish did fine no problems, when i moved i had to get rid of it. def look more into it as i did it along time ago an im def not an expert in this topic, but thats my 2 cents. worked for me

I have a platy breeder tank 90 gal plywood built i use 6 coats of drylock and 4 coats of pray paint krylon fusion black will take pics and post it tomorrow it will have 11 months on the 30th of the month

my problem is cost, I dont have the money for expensive sealers and in these cases where the tanks failed where did they fail was it in the corners cuz that is really the only thing i could see not working to well with this product but was thinking of doing somkinda corner molding so theres no 90angel for seams this should help. and i was think around 100 gallons not really going for a tall tank but wide and long and marine grade play is dense stuff, so it the drylok may not absorb into the wood good.
