I just bought a 125G acrylic tank with overflow and 2 drilled holes. One appears to be about 2" and the other is 1". Im planning to hook up my existing FX5 for this tank so maybe I'll plug one of the 2 drilled holes n just use the other hole for inlet. On the opposite corner, I'm looking to add a bulkhead for the outflow. As far as I know FX5 hose has 1" ID. So how big of a hole do I drill it? Is this what I need for my application?

I wouldn't plan on using the fx5 plumbing with the setup you are talking about. It would be wasy and more secure/water tight with a hard pipe build:

Also, make sure that the return and drain holes aren't too low on the tank. I'm not sure how much pressure the 5 is rated for because it's setup as a syphon. Although the build I referenced in the build thread above (addicted2cichlids) uses pre drilled holes and bulkheads like the setup you're talking about.
