I've been looking at pictures online of mated pairs of haitians and most of them are a black female with a male that is white with small black spots. This doesn't always seem to be the case though. I swear i see the black one dropping its egg tube but then the "male" is absolutely terrified of her even when she only tries to rub up against "him". Just want to know if im trying for the impossible here these are the only 2 i have left after starting with 7 the black one killed the rest.

If a better shot is needed i will get one tonight.

100% male and female. I suggest removing all other fish from the tank and putting a divider between the male and female for a couple days then give the male another shot, and keep using divider untill they pair off.

Im trying to re home a lot of the fish in that tank. Its slow going i swear monster fish keeping is dead in central illinois. I have 4 of the fish leaving the tank tonight. Might have to get that 75 running for them. Guess its time to get some flowers to "buy" room in the house.

Well sold 5 fish out of the tank tonight. So anyone else think its male and female. I just want to make sure not that i don't believe the one person that posted.

Male and Female. The female is the darker, smaller one. She will become black when breeding... and will get extremely aggressive... that's where the "Black Nasty" name comes from. It looks like they're about to breed since she's already darkening.

Yeah no offense bro. But I do know what I'm talking about:) also just because the female darkens up doesn't mean she's ready to spawn. If you don't want to take my advise that's cool but untill she feels the male is worthy she won't spawn. So what I'm saying is if the female is more dominant than the male she won't see him worthy. So if that's the case then I suggest dividing them for a day or so giving the male lil time to set up his territory and becomes confident then try pulling the divider and see how it goes. Shouldn't take too long for things to start goin for ya
