4". having a hard time sexing. theres another one that looks really similiar in size and color. and the two seem like they are pairing up at times then the larger one chases smaller one like it changed its mind. the first pic is of fish one and the rest are fish two.

That is a female. The black on her dorsal dead give away, The top photo show's it the best. Nice one. Just find her a male. Be careful on the diet cause these guys are prone to getting bloat. They are a little more sensitive when they are younger.

those are two different haits. the top one is hait #1 and bottom 3 are hait number 2. I just vented the one on the bottom three and looks like male. i always thought females have dark dorsal and blacken up but these two give me doubts. im sure one is female and other is male just cause the way they act together. im hoping one iis just stressed male. but i think your right on them being female.

both female..

Now time for a nice male

I have some more haits coming in the morning. at least one male maybe two. all im looking for is a pair. after that ill have the rest for sale. so for anyone interested pm me and we can make arrangements for after i get a pair, which im thinking should be within the next few days. so ill have 5 or 6 for sale.

Great news! Good luck!!! My pair that I was talked into letting go. They died shortly after on the guy from the dreaded bloat! They were the picture of health when I had them and spawned every couple of months.

wow they were awesome looking. thats too bad, sorry to hear about losing them. i think haitiensis need to be treated with a little bit more TLC and attention than most other cichlids. im raising my temp right now for the new comers tommorrow so they can adjust to new environment a lil smoother since the water they come from was 88. ill let you know if i get any luck. thank you.
