need help sexing my dovii

I have three males and one i cant sex. i still think its female by the way it interacts with the males, but i just got home from working away for two weeks and she has alot of color. my males have spots on the body, green nose with blue/green freckles on face. the one i need help with doesnt have the spots on the body but has the green nose but not as dark as males. and has a lateral line with bars. but on her face she has kinda like blue mascara under the eye spots and alot of blue in finage and a tinge through the body. i thought females didnt get that colorful.
oh by the way she is costa rican. i have two nicaragua males and one costa rican male for sure. thank you. i will get pics up tonite my wife has the camera at the moment.

Look for spots in the unpaired fins. That usually signifies a male.

females still get really colourful and display all the traits you have mentioned. as CCHHCC mentioned, the sure way to sex is to check for spotting in the anal and dorsal fins, or venting. i have a female costa rican and for ages i thought it was a male because of colouring and it also had black freckling down it's body.

some can be harder to sex then others, but generally they are quite easy to sex at about 5"

Thank you. But im gonna bank on female. dont see any definate spotting on fins. My larger male nicaraguan 6" is trying to court her. i cant see her vent yet but by the way those two act and chase the other males off together tells me its a female. shes 4.5" ill post pics as soon as i can.

thanks you're all right.. female. they are nesting so i put a divider in the tank to keep escondido and red devil out of their hair for a couple days to get to know eachother and last nite i pulled it. bad idea, the esco who used to run tank with ease who is bigger than dovii doesnt any more. in fact both teamed up and started beating the *&%$ out of him, tag team style. so the divider is back in. the esco is fine just in case you are wondering. i need to get my other tank up so i can pull rd and esco.
