need help(sick jar)

need help! my jar is losing its tail fin. looks like some kind of illness of some sort, not sure. it happen like 4 days ago, first he stop eating, then stop swimming, and now he losing his fins. the tip of his tail is red, right where the fin grows from, looks like missing scale. need help, i raise the temp to 88 degrees and added salt. is there anything else i can do? tahnk you

Make sure your water is absolutely pristine extra airation walways helps.. And I'd go with a melafix/pimafix combo pronto... just go by the direction on the back of the bottles.

plus give it water changes and a lot of oxigen... feed it half what you normally do for a couple of days should be ok it's fin roth

why's your jar got fin rot is another thing you need to be asking urself... they are quite hardy likl fish... is it bein bullied? or geting stress by something? and do a water test! tell us what your results are....

make sure you determine if its fin rot of getting bitten off by another fish. i would check your ammonia levels, sounds like he might be stressed out by the high amounts of ammonia and fin rotting because of the high ammonia. do you use some kind of amquel, prime, or stress coat when you do water changes?

Btw, Do you have any other fishes in there with the jar? Could it be the tankmate attacking th jar instead of sickness?

i had a red finned pike but moved it every sense this happen to my jar.
