A friend of mine has recently shown some interest in the Aquarium hobby. His dad already has a nice 55 gallon tank set up in his living room, however, he doesn't know much about fish tanks and only has a Gourami and a school of Feeder Comets in the tank.
Frankly, to my friend's dad, it's just taking up space and he doesn't care about it anymore. My friend wanted to originally buy a smaller tank but I've convinced him to save some money and just take the 55 off his dad's hands.
He's not going for monsters, but he wants some nice unique schooling fish. Nothing too small like a Danio, but not too big either, something in the medium range.
What are some fish he can use to stock this tank with? He's looking in the range of fish that get to 3-5" long and can have a school of 6-8 fish.
Any other kind of ideas would be cool too, thanks in advance.
