Ok so I currently have a 55 with a young oscar about 3", 2 jack dempseys about 2", and a firemouth about 2".
I just set up my 125 gallon and it is cycling as it will be their future home.
But here is where it gets trickier... my wife wants 2 ebjd on top of what we already have....
This seems dangerous having 4 dempseys and an oscar. but ive been reading up on how to help with aggression by the use of target fish like danyos or au rainbow fish. there is also the idea of over stocking the tank. I have caves and structures for all the fish to have and then some extras.
so here are the questions-
could 1 oscar, 4 dempseys, 1 firemouth (my 3y/o really wanted him) inhabit a 125 with the use of danyos or something of the sort?this is assuming there isnt any super agro mean fish in the bunch.
would silver dollars help with the stocking or bioload?
and how much filtration would be needed, i have an emperor 400 and a marineland c350 canister currently... also have a penguin 350 and tetra whisper 30-60 filter.
if any of the dempseys happened to pair up i am ready with the 55gal for them and willing to fork out for a 75.
