Need help stocking new 29

OK my buddy has been bugging me to set him up a tank and he wants a comunity tank with mostly non aggresive fish i have a couple ideas but thought i would see what you guys thought.... it will be filtered by a new magnum 350 prosystem......... cost of fish no object as i am doing this for his birthday present.....no live plants either...he is kinda a noobee too so take that into consideration but he has held one of my 55s with african cichlids for some time now and i am taking themback but they were taken care of perfect so throw ideas out there and i want a complete stocklist

How about a Tanganyikan communities with maybe a pair of brichardi or daffodils and some shell dwellers?

discus are kinda hard to keep so... maybe a few clown loaches....some swordtailes..couple guppies..

How about an erythrinus erythrinus and a school of cardinals Would be a fun tank, with occasional replenishing needed.

I would say some bleheris or gachuas but they are illegal.

How about a couple of butterfly fish, a small school of barilius sp, a pictus cat and a chaka chaka. Would be a very active tank with an oddball surface and bottom dweller. Would not be overly colourful though.
