question... what the hell is a bubble trap and do i need one in there?:screwy:
and if so what i have in the design is that fine?.
(tank drains through sock before skimmer section)

A bubble trap stops every single square inch of your water in the sump and tank from being filled with microbubbles.

This is what my skimmer did to my 10 gallon.

You probably want a bubble trap otherwise you'd be really frustrated/ fed up with seeing bubbles everywhere, even sticking to the mucous coating of your fish.

I think you should be ok cutting one to shape and sliding it in one of the bubble traps.

Preferably the one closest to the sand chamber. So that way, if it gets clogged, it'll just pop out into the sand chamber.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I just took a quick glance.

just a filter pad down the sand bed side of the bubble trap? i i al capitan. how big are these skimmer things? the one i'm looking at says foot print 390x285mm.
and also when a skimmer says max tank size 2000L how do i determine LPH-age?
