I would like some help to identify the fish in the first 2 pictures I have attached (I believe the fish in the 2nd pic is a peacock?).
I was also hoping to get some insight on my tank size in relation to the fish I currently have. My tank is a 46 gallon tall and currently inhabits 4 fish that are all shown in the 3rd picture (I do not plan to add more fish)?
thanks

Second pic is Nimbochromis Fusco ;) Eat peacocks for lunch money.

not sure if the guy in the first pic isn't a male metriaclima greshakai. yellow guy in the bottom pic is a labidochromis caereulus - can't really see/make out the fourth fish (left hand side bottom pic)

sorry, re tank size; 46 gallon tall is not ideal. the most important dimensions for these fish is the length of your tank followed by overall volume. Length allows fish to avoid/escape each other (they are very aggressive) and overall volume allows you to stock a lot of them, so no one fish gets picked on too much. 55 gallons in standard dimensions can make for a great African tank, with the proviso that bigger is always better.

The Fuscotaeniatus can reach 12 inches in size, so that tank is not big enough for him for life at all. It also predates on smaller fish.

Great looking fish, unfortunately I don't know what they are. I do have a question though.

What type of rock is that?

Thanks,

I appreciate the information from all of you! Yeah - I realize I will have to eventually get a larger tank (which is cool) and next time I won't give up length for height!

Jon P - I actually purchased those rocks at petsmart ($40)! The cool thing is they are hollow - so they are light weight and give the fish some good hiding spots.
