I am setting up a 180 gallon biotope for a black ghost knife after thourough research and I have somewhat of a predicament on my hands now. I bought a bacteria starter and some bloodfin and serpae tetras instead of fishless cycling because I wanted to try TSS out and the tank has been set up for a few weeks now. I am going to add a severum, 3 l204, and a few angels as well as the bgk.

Now, the problem is I don't plan on keeping the tetras long term, as they don't inhabit the same waterways as the bgk and I want to keep it peruvian themed. I was planning on taking the tetras back to the pet store soon and then get some of the other fish I was planning on. The thing is, I can't catch the tetras for the life of me, they keep evading everything I try to do and 2 of them even landed in my overflow box and 1 in my sump! I don't want to tear apart the whole tank I decorated since I have decided they are too hard to catch could I keep them in there and let them become fish food for the BGK? Will he even eat them? Or would the Severum eat them? They seem too fast to catch so Idk if they could. Some feedback would be appreciated, thanks. P.S. I would rather not have the little guys die but if worse comes to worse than its better them fish food than harassing my angels or having to tear apart my tank.

Its a possibility they will survive, not sure the BGK or the Severum will touch the Serpae. If the BGK decided to eat them it could do it at night while tetra rested.

how many do you have? simply put food in next to a net and catch them as they eat, maybe you could keep them in a large net in your tank till you have all of them captured. maybe use a second net to stop jumping.

good luck
