Agreed with with seachem stability. It is the best product i have ever used. Running filters on a tank for a week on an established tank is not long enough for them to colonize large groups of bacteria. You can buy 250ml bottles of stability at petsmart for $9 and change will take a little more then one bottle for a tank that size. Use as directed on the bottle for a week and you will be golden. Add all of the fish to that tank that you are going to go in there. And start using the stability. Is 1 cap full per 5 gallons or 5ml the first day, then 1 cap full 5ml per each ten gallons every day after for a week. And it will make the proper amount of bb for what is in the tank. If you cycle it and then add more fish it will go throught a little mini cycle because of the added bb requirments. So just make sure you have all of the fish in there that are going to be in there when you start using the product and you will be golden. This is the only product i use i have used it plenty of times to set up tanks. even on new tanks with brand new every thing never used filters and never used bio materials and works like a charm. It is in a white bottle with blue lettering and says seachem stability on it. It is fish and plant safe and you can not over doze the tank with it. All so i wouldnt do large water changes well you are using it. Maybe 5 to ten gallons a day while you are using the product p.s that is a huge bio load for that size tank

thanks for the help ill get stabilty right know and get it going

Gad, is Seachem associated with Scientology.
You guys tell him this will solve all his problems.
He has excessive ammonia and nitrite right now.
Even if that stuff does what you guys say it does, don`t you think he should do some WC so his fish don`t die?

Stability has not worked for me at all. Tried it 3 different times, never worked. If the old tank is being torn down, why not put the old filter on the new tank?

Never said it will solve all of the problems in this tank. I was saying is the best way to complete the cycle on this new set up because it oviously hasnt been. I personaully think there are way to many large fish in this set up unless huge filtration is used. And large scale water changes regulary. But my opinion of his set up was not asked or given. But thanks for acting cool.

If you can take out your old sponges or biomedia from your old tank and place it in your new filter. that will help the bacteria present in your old stuff spread to your new media. Also do water changes daily or once every two days. dose Prime if you have it or any product that detoxifies the ammonia and nitrite in the water DURING WATER CHANGE AND A DAY ISH AFTER WHENEVER AMMONIA OR NITRITE LEVELS RISE. There will be ammonia and nitrite present in your water and it will be toxic thats why you have to detoxify it. I would add the recommended water change dose to the tank once daily. dont bother will stability if you are putting your old sponges in your new filter. If you dont want to do that then just squeeze your old sponge into the new tank. the sludge in the sponge is packed full of bacteria that will detoxify the water.
