Noticed this on my Senegalus today. It wasn't there yesterday. It's acting normally. In the past I've seen much smaller white discolorations which I assumed were nicks and scratches which healed up in a day or so.

This is much larger. Any help is appreciated. Water params have been good with zero ammonia and nitrites.

Have a few ghost shrimp, 2 Bolivian rams, and 1 blue gourami.

Delhezi at 6"
Senegalus at 6"
Endli at 5"

Just did a 50% water change and added some salt.

if you look really close do you see any hair-like worms around the problem area? Are any of your bichirs new additions to the tank? it looks like similiar damage you would see if your fish had parasites known as bichir worms. they are hard to see but pretty common in bichirs and need to be destroyed by prazi if that is indeed the issue you have.

No new additions to the tank.

I didn't see any hair like worms like the bichir worms. I have noticed that one of the larger rams will chase the gourami and nip at it, so I'm wondering if it nipped the sen too. The above link looks kind of like my sen's except I don't see any redness to the area on my sen, though my tank is pretty dark so it's hard to tell.

I've got the sen in quarantine now with some Seachem Prime, salt, Melafix, and Pimafix.

Hoping this fixes it :/
