Need Help With 200Gallon pump/Filter setup!

Yes I got an all glass 200 gallon tank that im using for my alligator snapper. Im only going to fill the tank approximately half way but im needing help on the filter and pump setup. its on a stand and i have room for my pump and filter setup under the aquarium. I have a five gallon bucket used to carry liquids with a sealed lid. I have heard of people submerging a pump in the bottom of the bucket below there filter media pumping the water out and back into the tank. My question is how to get the water from the tank to the bucket without me drilling into my tank and installing a bulk head near the bottom? I have a 1800gph Mag Drive Danner to push the water but im stumped on pulling the water out of the tank over the side and into the filter bucket with a continuous flow. syphoning the water to get it started maybe? any advice is great. even photos of your system would come in handy too : ) thanks
