Need help with a 180g tank please!

I may be purchasing a 180gallon tank off craigslist but one of the black plastic borders on the side of the tank is missing. will this affect the tank at all with leaking or anything? Please need answers asap

I would replace it the frames are not too expensive. Can be a pain to do though ive done it on a 150. If it is just the outermost part of the frame not the top and inside portion it might be ok. You could always test fill outside and see how confident you feel with it. Most of my fish love to bang glass or are just large so i dont like to leave anything to chance.

+1, I replaced the frame on my 180... it is a pain in the backside but its better than having you tank blow out. If that side is not completely missing then you could epoxy a piece of plastic over the gap BUT if the whole side of the frame is gone I would replace the whole thing... and reseal the tank while you are at it.
