I have a light for my saltwater tank that's 36" wide, and it came with the tank (30gal). Its your general (Photo 1) light system. #6" with 24" bulb/fixture inside it.
It's broken, or at least the electric components are.
Now, I have a similar system, 29" wide, made for a 20long setup. Guess what? It has the same size bulb/fixture in it. the fixture seems to be easily un-screwable, as does the fixture in the 36" system.
Would it be worth a shot to switch the electronic components of the two light systems by unscrewing them then re-screwing the working fixture in the 36" system?
I dont have cash to get another light system, which is why i wanna do this.
