need help with aclimation of snowflake eel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
To acclimate the eel,you will have to buy some marine salt.Usually 1/2 a cup of marine salt will make 1 gallon of salt water.Oh yeah, the eel you have comes from BRACKISH water .Thats where the ocean meets the river. So the PETCO you went to doesn't know about BRACKISH water.I work at a PETCO in the fish dept.We have the eel you have in a marine tank.We also have spotted puffers in salt along with 2 large monos. :D

i know that they come from brackish conditions i have a brackish tank i just wont put him in with my puffer he is evil and i love my eel i have just never switched one over to marine thanks for the info though!! everyfish guy at my petco sucks they are just young kids that dont know what their doing i usually net my own fish since i bought that eel i warned the kid that they are escape artists and he didnt listen he put the holding container on the counter next to the sink and i barely caught my new eel before he went down the drain i was pissed never will they net and bag my fish for me again!!!!!!!!

put the eel in a bucket with the water he is in add small amounts of salt water every 10 min or so untill u bring him up to the salinity u have in the salt ... same idea as bring a mollie it to a salt tank
