Need help with an ID

I picked this guy up not knowing what he was, at first was guessing some type of geophagus. But, now I am thinking it may be a cross between a ram and an acarichhtys geayi after looking through some books. His color has changed since I brought him home. He is kind of stressed in this pic since it was taken soon after I had put him in.

Yup thats a bolivan ram alright! I used to have one, Rams are awesome! This particular one does not get as colorfull as other types of Rams though, still awesome! =)

Bolivian ram, Microgeophagus altispinosa. Interesting fish, although not so colorful.

I have a pair and they are nice fish, they were also being sold as "Ruby cichlid" but Bolivian Ram is more common. Enjoy.

He is in the new 55 for now. I couldn't pass him up, even if I didn't know what he was.
