So ive posted about this the last few days and haven't gotten very many responses to what may be wrong. I lost my sen bichir yesterday for a reason i still cant figure out and now my bowfin is acting weird. I did a weekly 50% wc a few nights ago and after the loss of my sen i did a 25% wc today and added some stress zyme to help with whatever maybe wrong. When you look at the video below it shows my bowfin hardly being able to stay upright and the only thing i can find about that is swim bladder disease but i dont know if that is what it is. I tested my water and it all comes out good but just a little low ph, i will test it again and post a pic of the test so maybe that will aid in helping the problem. If anyone has any idea on what may be wrong please let me know id really hate to keep losing fish.

What are your parameters right now? How about Temp? Are you using a bucket to do your WC with? If so, could the bucket have been contaminated? Do you have access to a sick tank? Maybe QT the Bowfin? Being that you did a 50% WC, then a 25% WC and are still having trouble I'd worry about contaminants. Maybe run some Charcoal, instead of treating with medicine. Anyone else got ideas?

No i do not use a bucket, i have a python hose. I am about to do a test and get a pic of the results to post. I dont currently have a sick tank because everything else i would put him with is smaller and he is still eating like normal. I just put 2 brand new filter pads in the filter last night in case. The temp is usally always between 75 and 80, and thats where it is right now. I remember having this issue with my ornate about a year ago where he kept swimming upside down but eventually get back to normal. I am just worried something is wrong now because i lost my sen and now im seeing more weird behaviors. Thankyou for the reply though.

Ok here is the tests:
First is after 20 seconds for Ph Alkalinity and hardness, looks like my ph is still low but i dont see how thats going to affect him to swim like that and i haven't added anything new to make it drop like that.

Second one is after 60 seconds for the nitrite and nitrate. Nitrite looks good and nitrate looks bad, how can i lower the nitrate?

Ive been doing wc like normal and being careful not to over stock or overfeed so im really confused as to why i have bad readings.

I personally don't trust Stick tests. I have this,

Anyway you can take a sample to the LFS and have them test it for everything?

Yeah that would probably be the best. Ill head over to pet smart in the morning and see what they would recommended, they usually know what there doing with fish at the one by my house.

Took my water to the lfs today and the lady told me the only problem was the alkalinity. So either i read the test wrong or she did idk. But i got some prime while i was there and i guess ill just continue to do 25% wc every few days to keep the water clean and hopefully my bowfin doesn't end up like my sen.
