Need Help with Brings PH to 8.0

Can someone help me out.

Listening to the LFS i had Archer fish and they Gave me Some Crushed Coral to put into the Tank to help with the Salinity of the Tank. Finished Reading a Thread about this. I need to Get Instant Ocean Salt at 3 teaspoons per gallon i have.

Unfortunately my Archer Fish Died :cry:

Now i'm trying to Make a Brackish Tank.

Need to know:

My tanks PH is now 6.8. What can i use to make it 7.5 or 8.0 with out chemicals.

Any advise is Great.

crushed Coral will bring the P.H up?
 
There are certain substrates that can bring your pH up. I always hear that Crushed Coral will do the trick, but I don't know how much it will bring it up.
 
Ok, This is the issue. Before i Bought the Archer Fish. MY PH was 7.2. When i tested the Water from the LFS i purchased the Archer from it was PH 7.5.

I did the Drip Technic with the Archer to get it used to my water.

A also got a Large Rock for my 30G Tank and washed it off and put it in the tank. My PH went down to 6.8. I was told the Coral will bring down the PH now i'm confused.

Someone Help.

What brings up PH and what brings down PH.

crushed coarl will bring up your PH, drift wood will lower it.
 
Anything else besides Crushed Coral.

i have a PH 6.8 Now. Trying to make a Brackish water Tank. PH 7.5+

If i'm trying to go from PH6.8 to PH 7.5. is this bringing the ph up or down?

Sorry for the repeat post. Just want to get this right
 
I think the crushed coral does the job just right...Just don't add too much or ur PH will go sky high...
I use cc in my tank and it keeps my PH at 7.8-8.0
The good thing about the cc is that when u do a water change it will automatically adjust the PH back to 7.8-8.0

I think this is the best option for u...U don't want to use chemicals to bring the PH up..
