I just picked up a chili red arowana who basically has no fins a hole in the gill plate and slight gill curl on one side.....yea I know pour guy....well they had him in a 130 gal he's about 14inch they had the temp at 32 celcius which I thinks pretty high... They said they did water change every two weeks.. They didn't have very much aeration and a canister filter which had who now what media and if it was ever changed or clean they did not know very much about fish and nothing about arowanas... I've never had to deal with fin rot so what are my first steps ...I was gonna try lots of waterchages temp 82 f lots of aeration small power head and some salts.. Let me know your advice ...thanks

With fin rot I would just go with keeping it in pristine water conditions for the first few weeks and see if there is any improvement.

O yea ... Do you think anything will happen if I put him with other fish will anything effect my other fish

Can't really say, always a good idea to quarentine fish for a month before adding them to a community tank.

Yeah, salt, plenty of aeration and maintaining good water quality are all right things... plus --- you may also use Melafix (commonly available in fish stores). Just follow the instructions on the label on the bottle.
