Need help with filtration and heating

Hey guys.
I recently bought a used 120g.
The problem is, I'm having a little trouble with heating and filtration. With the heating, I have no absolutely no idea what to do. What can I use to heat it?
With the filtration, the tank came with bulkheads already attached, and a pump was included, but I'm not sure what to do with it. I was thinking about making a sump out of a rubbermaid. Would that work okay?

As for a heater, anywhere froma 250-400w heater will work.. I like Jags or Stealth submersible heaters.. You can make a sump, but I would throw on some HOB and a canister filter..
 
Doctor foster and smith will sale those filters for real cheap!
 
if you go with the inline heater let us know how it goes as i have been thinking about getting one for a while to have one less eye sore in the tank.

you cant go wrong with hydor inline they are a little big but out side the tank and very accurate i've had mine over a year and the temp stays the same no fluctuation and i know who have had them longer and they say the same
