Need help with Flowerhorn

Hi there, so about a week and a half ago I noticed a bump coming out of the bottom of my fish, looked like he had a large turd he was trying to pass. I did some research and most of what I found suggested a prolapsed rectum. At the time he also had a small injury on his side, or at least it appear to be so. He was being pretty shy and wouldn't let me get a good look at it. A few days later I noticed stringy poop, and so I treated the tank with PraziPro and haven't seen any stringy poop since. But since then the wound on his side has gotten larger and this "prolapsed anus" is very large. I've tried using epsom salt but haven't noticed any improvements.

I gave him an aquarium salt bath yesterday and the wound seems like it's showing signs of healing, but his other issue is still very much a concern to me. He still swims around but does also lurk in the corners of the tank from time to time and really hasn't eaten much if at all the past several days.

He's in a 100g tank, the water quality is good. Almost no nitrates, no nitrites, ammonia or chlorine.

Unfortunatly I would suggest putting this fish down. It appears to be beyone saving at this point.

Really sorry to see your flowerhorn in such condition..
I had a sick flowerhorn once that I adore and I tried very hard to keep him cured, unfortunately it passed after several weeks of treatment..
The treatment was probably not effective against the disease but at least I tried my best and the same can be said in your situation..
But one thing's for sure, it is a waiting game.. although in your case, time is not in your favor for the fish..
Whatever decision you make, I wish you and the flowerhorn all the best..

That's what I was really afraid of. I have read everywhere that the prolapse in flowerhorns and many hybrids in general were common, but that dosing the tank with epsom salt would cure it, but it seemed to have no effect. Perhaps this was much more than just a prolapse because I couldn't find pictures that compared to what is going on with this guy. Hopefully at some point I will find some answers so that I know what the issue is and how to treat it in the future, but I'll likely end up doing more vigilant about making sure I buy fish that don't have predispositions to scenarios such as this.

Have you tried clear from cz. Or paraclear. Maybe it's internal bacteria infection.

I haven't tried that, but if it's anything that requires him to eat, will likely not do the trick as he isn't currently willing to eat.
