Recently a pouch of sand busted open inside my filter. I have cleaned it many many times and it will only run like it should for a short time. The flow will slow down significantly about one day after cleaning. I have cleaned the motor as well. Any help would be appreciated.

sand does a number on impellers. you may need a new one.

Can you confirm that the impeller housing/well is completely clear? I'd disassemble it and clean the impeller and the socket it sits in as thoroughly as possible. If the socket is magnetic it may have iron-rich particles of sand or rock fragments clinging to it that aren't going to be cleared by rinsing.

Yeah I just confirmed with the boyfriend and he cleaned the impelled and housing a few times. We just cleaned the filter real good again and replaced the microns. Its working great for now we will see how long it lasts. It also get gassy and pushes air when not working well, but does not suck any air ever.
