Sometimes. These things have a wildly varied temperament and are known for being Jardini-like in their brutality. Some guys have luck with keeping them though. The only way to know for sure with an odoe is to try.

Have any of you guys actually kept Odoe?

I have kept several groups, and never had any kind of aggression issues. Maybe cause I keep them in groups, not sure, but the current group I just moved was grown out with small Bala sharks. I'm guessing the Odoe were big enough to eat the Balas if they wanted, but cohabbed peacefully for months.

Maybe it's cause I get them small, but you'd think with a group of 9 in a tank with 3 balas small enough to be eaten IF they were aggressive, I'd think that to be a recipe for a massacre, but they all seemed fine together. That group has also been fine with a MBU, who should be a sitting duck for an angry group of fish.......

I say try it!!! I bet it will be fine.

I have an odoe and it is not aggressive at all so far.In fact it is annoyingly skittish,I can't even place a syphon hose in the far end of he tank without it going ballistic...It is only about six inches though and could change as it ages and grows more.

Yea I had an odoe for a year it was not aggressive at all you can keep it with cichlids that can't fit in its mouth, my blue acaras used to punk him around all day lol

The odoe i had never showed any aggression either. Originally kept with my dorado, but later housed with Bala sharks, tinfoils, ornate bichir and an IT dat. Here is a pic.
